FINDING YOUR CORE & PELVIC FLOOR
Our highly experienced Senior Physiotherapist, Lauren May, and Senior Pilates Instructor, Molly Teper, have teamed up to bring you a pelvic health workshop like no other!
Whether you are experiencing bladder/bowel problems, pelvic floor weakness following childbirth, pain with sexual intercourse, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, or any other pelvic floor complications, we are here to help!
Pelvic health concerns are one of the most common client complaints we hear in our studio and clinic. But we know that pelvic floor muscles can be difficult to identify, with up to 40% of people performing pelvic floor exercises incorrectly. So, we have put together a workshop so that you don’t suffer in silence any longer and can obtain important skills and knowledge to support your core and pelvic floor in the long run. Featuring diaphragmatic breathwork and the use of Real Time Ultrasound Imaging, this workshop is not to be missed!
Join us Saturday, 14th September for the workshop at our Guildford location, with some delicious treats, resources and goodies, followed by lunch next door at the lovely Padbury’s (lunch on us!).
The session is also claimable under Private Health Insurance!

WORKSHOP DATE
Date:
Saturday, 14th September
Duration:
150 mins
Clinical Pilates: The workshop will entail a physio-led clinical exercise session combining Pilates (including reformer Pilates) and specific rehabilitative clinical exercises tailored to your particular pelvic health complications. You will be safely guided through mindful engagement of pelvic floor muscles, diaphragmatic breathing, pelvic floor strengthening and relaxing exercises and stretches, with the aim of improving core strength and stability, conditioning of the pelvic floor and support to the pelvic organs. Don’t worry if you have never done pilates or clinical exercise before! You do not require any previous Pilates experience to attend this workshop.
RTUI: During the workshop, our senior physiotherapist will utilise Real Time Ultrasound Imaging so you will be able to see exactly how the deep stabilising muscles surrounding your pelvic floor are working, by producing an image on a screen in real time. This will be extremely effective when teaching you how to activate the muscles correctly and how to do exercise effectively.
Education:
During this workshop our Senior Physiotherapist and Senior Pilates Instructor, will take a deep dive into the biomechanics of the pelvic floor with the end goal being to empower you to manage your pelvic health with confidence. Topics covered include:
develop your knowledge and understanding of the impact of pelvic muscle dysfunction on bladder, bowel and sexual function.
learn simple and easy to carry out spine, hip and pelvic girdle exercises.
develop practical tools (including pelvic exercises) to manage pain, optomise function and improve quality of life.
explore the correlation between mental health and pelvic health.
Treatment Plan: during this session our team of experts will help you to gain a better understanding of your particular diagnosis and develop a treatment plan for care.
Refreshments: Enjoy some pelvic health friendly refreshments on arrival.
Workshop Resources: Take home with you some helpful pelvic health resources created by our team of experts including pelvic friendly recipes, together with a few little goodies from Manna Wellness to you.
Lunch: Join us for lunch afterwards (on us!) at the lovely Padbury’s. This is a great opportunity to continue discussions and glean invaluable advice from experts in the field over a glass of wine and a yummy crispy crepe or beer battered barramundi.
